Let there be "Lights! Lights!"

Cologne is like a mega village to me. Huge by size, small in attitude and vision. With one million inhabitants you have no guarantee to be able to experience great electronic shows with outstanding artists on a regular basis. Most venues are packed with mediocre club-events whose DJs barely know the names of the styles that they are playing. There are exceptions, but you need to look for them under the radar. So if you don’t want to die bored beyond belief you have to act. This year it was us, the Propellor Knigts & Serve & Destroy Records Possee, who joined force and magic with the exquisite Artheater-Venue, Slaughterdish and the all respected WARP Records Family. So, be alerted that on the 23rd of October Cologne will be hit by a giant electronic artist rooster that should make the Cathedral shake in respect. Join us if you are near the City…

PROPELLOR Knights IV - The Relaunch & You Lack Discipline Record Release Party

From the fantastic near-hit single “I’m Not Comfortable Inside My Mind” and Warp Records´ cheapest ever video (£5, beat that Windowlicker), which was featured on MTV, to nude modelling and performance art stunts (including sponsored masturbation), the multi-costumed, multi-talented John Callaghan, from Birmingham (UK), is a performer of spiky and odd electro-cabaret with songs about hope, melancholia, timewasting and clothes. When a guy like him joins forces with the equally talented multi-instrumentalist and delirious song-writing artist Miss Hypnotique, the time continuum itself may vibrate in awe for the length of a song. Or at least you - the listener - might end up with a twisted new haircut. The latter will be much more probable if you play “You Lack Discipline” on a loud PA.

But don’t be afraid: The E.P. which will be released on the 24th of September will be phalanxed by half a dozen of fancy and artful remixers of the most talented underground producers Germany and England could possibly hold in prison due to dangerous skills: BEIGE [nonplace], OCTAVCAT [uncharted audio], MODERN DAY BLUE, ANTONIO DE LUCA [upcoming promising artist from cologne’s artschool underground], BOB HUMID [Serve & Destroy] and JOHN CALLAGHAN himself, all quite literally wrote completely new visions out of the source-material of the original.

In order to celebrate the release of this annoying little record John Callaghan & Miss Hypnotique will play a 2h Show at our beloved freestyler Electronic Party PROPELLOR Knights on the 24th of September 2010 at Artheater, Cologne. Be punctual, the gigs will are from 22h - 00h and will be followed by infamous and deep DJ-sets by EDDA, TELEKOLLECK, GHOSTNOTE and the host of the evening, me (Bob Humid). Be there.
